Charity Accounts: Mr Haycock kindly presented the Charity accounts.
Playground: The playground inspection report was circulated via email last month. Nothing major highlighted, just a general maintenance tidy up required.
Highways: Mrs S.Slatford explained to the councillors the accident that she was involved in on the Haddiscoe bends earlier this year resulting in quite serious injuries. This was due to a car coming towards her at speed and out of control on her side of the road. She has already written to Highways and Mrs Stone with her concerns and the Parish are also going to try to get the speed limit reduced along this stretch. A campaign that has failed in the past but we will try again as accidents along here seem to be happening more frequently.
Highways have informed us that there is major kerb and surfacing work being carried out in Fritton which will result in the A143 being closed to all traffic for a couple of nights and traffic control during the day for a few weeks.
The clerk has arranged for new road name signs for Cut Bank Road and Rectory Road.
The clerk was asked to write to the residents of the houses along the A143 from the Crown pub to Manor Farm and ask them if they would cut their hedges back from the pavement as this is now causing a problem to pedestrians.
A.O.B: The clerk informed all present that a new BT cabinet is being installed at the top of Rectory Road which should greatly enhance broadband speeds in the village.
The clerk is still plugging away at SNDC to get the gypsy rubbish removed from the grounds at the village hall. It is not only an eyesore but now getting putrid and will be a danger to wildlife.
