Beccles Angling Club hold the lease for the former gravel pit, known
as “Haddiscoe Lake” The Club has been in existence for over 100 years
& we look to provide Angling Activities for our Membership. Beccles
Angling Club obtained the lease for Haddiscoe Lake, over 30 years ago
& Members have worked hard to create a safe & accessible venue.
Senior Membership is currently \u00a360.00, with a \u00a310.00 joining fee, for
new members. Intermediate Membership (16-21) is \u00a330.00, Juniors are
\u00a310.00 & we also offer an “Associate” Membership for those that wish
to visit the Lake but do not wish to fish. This can include partners,
friends or carers. We are totally self-funded & rely on our Membership
for finance which we then invest back into maintenance & improvements.
Membership lasts for one year & our Season runs from the 1st June to
the 31st May. We run a programme of fishing matches throughout the
year but many of our Members are pleasure anglers, the majority of
whom are retired & just enjoy the peace & quiet. We also hold a
Children’s fishing match every year, usually in September to encourage
more youngsters to enjoy fishing. This is well supported & we receive
donations of prizes, from local companies so that every child receives
a prize.
We are currently in the process of improving the boundary fenceline &
we have regular “work-parties” to maintain the area.
